Customs Clearing Agents Professionalisation Programme (CCAPP)

The Institute of Chartered Tax Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICTAZ) has established a structured professional conversion pathway designed specifically for practicing Customs Clearing Agents who seek to professionalise their status and become registrable as Registered Tax Accountants [R.T.A(Z)] in accordance with the Public Accountants and Auditors Act. 

This intervention responds directly to the statutory cessation deadline of 30 June 2026 applicable to existing customs clearing practitioners. The programme is therefore structured as a transitional professionalisation mechanism to prevent business disruption, protect livelihoods, and ensure continuity of tax-related advisory and compliance services in Zimbabwe. 

No exemptions will be granted under this professionalisation route. 

Programme Details 

  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Online Study Modules accessible 24/7
  • Live Tutorials (weekends & selected weekdays) - Timetable for tutorials will beshared 

Intake 1:

  • Registration Closing Date: 28 February 2026
  • Will run: from 1 March 2026 to 24 April 2026
  • Examinations Dates: 27 April 2026 to 8 May 2026           

Intake 2:

  • Registration Closing Date: 13 March 2026
  • Will run: from 16 March 2026 to 15 May 2026
  • Examinations Dates: 18 May 2026 to 29 May 2026

 No extensions will be granted. 

Programme will be retired after this window unless special circumstances or a Memorandum of Understanding provides otherwise. 

This is a once-off transitional professionalisation window. 

Customs Clearing Agents Professionalisation Programme Entry Requirements 

Purpose 

This programme is designed for practising customs clearing agents seeking to convert to registrable tax accountant status with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB). 

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements: 

Professional Qualification

  • Hold a full qualification from a recognised Customs Clearing membership body, previously recognised by ZIMRA for registration as a Customs Clearing Agent. 

Academic Requirements

  • 5 O-Level passes (including English & Mathematics/Accounts)
  • AND meet one of the following:
  1. 2 A-Level passes, or
  2. Aged 25+ at application ( for Mature Entry)  

Programme Fees 

  1. Application Fee: $60 (non-refundable)
  2. Programme\Course Fee:$400 (includes exam fees)
  3. ICTAZ Membership Fee :$250 (annual, upon completion)
  4. PAAB Registration Fee:$320 (once-off, upon completion)
  5. PAAB Practising Certificate:$360 (annual, upon completion), renewable annually at $180

Registration as a Student 

Registration as a student member with the Institute of Chartered Tax Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICTAZ) is a precondition for taking the programme. 

The registration is done online (click here to register). Completed application form must be accompanied with the requisite registration fees (Non-refundable, Once-off payment).  

Refusal of registration 

The Institute reserves the right to refuse any application for registration as a student without assigning any reason to the refusal.
