flexible time of 12 months, the Institute of Chartered Tax Accountants
of Zimbabwe (ICTAZ) in partnership with its training partners, Training
Qualifications Certification Board (UK) offers you an opportunity to
attain a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Taxation, status of a
Chartered Tax Accountants (Zimbabwe) and Membership of the Institute
(AICTAZ/ FICTAZ).

Programme overview
International
tax is the study and practice that centres on the application of taxes
and tax law in the international community as it relates to individuals,
businesses and government agencies conducting cross-border commerce.
The myriad of tax treaties, territorial tax laws and their effect on
extraterritorial income requires the interpretive expertise of scholars
and practitioners who specialize in International Taxation.
The complexities of International Taxation dominate the landscape for
multinational organisations trying to conduct business in multiple
jurisdictions. This often results in international tax playing a major
role in the conducting of cross-border transactions.
This programme, developed by leading International Taxation specialists,
at both advisory and in-house level, will provide a firm grounding on
all the “must-know” areas of International Taxation.
Upon completion, students will be fully equipped to confidently pursue a career in International Taxation.
The
central objective of this programme, is to provide a comprehensive study
of all aspects of International Taxation with the purpose to:
- Enable qualifying learners to grasp and analyse the various concepts, principles and frameworks in International Taxation.
- Identify
potential or existing challenges and offer solutions to implement the
general principles of International Taxation, as well as engage with the
relevant authorities.

On successful completion of all stages of the of the Post-Graduate Diploma qualification, students will be able to:

evaluate, assess, and apply International Tax law concepts, theories,
frameworks and policies to develop robust multinational transactions.
- Successfully read, understand and apply International Tax case law.
- Evaluate
the complexities and use it to pursue both analysis and argument as
appropriate within the international taxation environment.
- Assist
clients when navigating through, and dealing with, complex areas such
as anti-avoidance measures, double taxation, hybrid arrangements
taxation of management, taxation of the digital economy, base erosion
and profit-sharing, transfer pricing.
- Advice clients by incorporating practical considerations during dispute resolution.
- Demonstrate
originality in tackling key emerging tax issues and their tax impact to
specific transactions and be able to put together solutions to support
clients.
- Comply with obligations and guidelines of the revenue services and corporations alike, when solving the complex issues.
- Identify opportunities for International Tax planning.

suitability of an applicant are:
- A relevant commercial Undergraduate Degree, HND, LLB or any other equivalent qualifications.
- Applications
may also be accepted by candidates who have achieved a comparative
academic level through their work experience – full details of which
should be supplied in your personal statement and reference.
- Fluency
in spoken and written English is a requirement for entry to the
programme and evidence may need to be provided. Where English is a
second language one must have successfully completed an undergraduate or
postgraduate qualification at a recognized institution where the medium
of tuition and assessment was entirely in English (proof must be
provided).

Examinations and Assignments pass requirements
Prerequisite for awarding the Post-Graduate Diploma.
- All the assignments and module exams require a pass mark of at least 50%.
Registration as a Student
Registration
as a student member with the Institute of Chartered Tax Accountants of
Zimbabwe (ICTAZ) is a precondition for taking the examination.
The registration is done online

. Completed application form must be accompanied with the requisite
registration fees (Once-off payment) and requisite subscription fees
(annual payment). Where registration is refused or rejected on any
ground, the subscriptions fees will be refunded.
Refusal of registration
The Institute reserves the right to refuse any application for
registration as a student without assigning any reason to the refusal.
